Actions to Date...



Goal to have CSU be designated as a League of American Bicyclists Rated "Community" - MISSION ACCOMPLISHED! The League of American Bicyclists has awarded CSU a Silver designation in the inaugural bicycle friendly university program. We will be submitting a new application to the League in August 2015 with the hope of earning Gold or Platinum level designation. Our current designation recognizes these campus-wide efforts: 

  • Worked with CSUPD regarding content of Ram Orientation program that is presented annually to incoming students and parents.
  • Worked in conjunction with the city, utilizing their COEXIST education campaign on campus.
  • Coordinated articles in Collegian regarding bike safety and pedestrian usage.
  • Have identified bicycle/auto/pedestrian "hot spots", or conflict zones, on campus for future planning efforts to improve.
  • Facilities Management applied for a CMAQ grant to improve the bike path from College Avenue Tunnel.
  • Have begun bike rack utilization counts.
  • Mobilized marketing efforts in various methods on campus to get a consistent message out to students about bike safety, rules, etc.
  • Have promoted safety and COEXIST message through CSU TV and radio.
  • Provide feedback to CSU facilities regarding potential campus planning efforts related to bike facilities and designated routes.
  • CSU Bike library has been started in conjunction with Recycled Cycles and is administered at the Lory Student Center.
  • Working to develop potential bike maintenance stop on the LSC plaza at various periods of time during the day/week/year.
