Learn to Ride –
Bike
Coming soon! Check back for dates and RSVP link or email [email protected] to be notified. Join instructors from FC Moves for a series of four, one hour classes to learn the basics of biking as a mode of transportation. This class is designed for NEW bicyclists who have never ridden before and are interested in learning how to use a bike to get around campus and town. The classes will be held outdoors and will involve drills and practice on a bike that is modified for beginners. Helmets to keep will be provided to all participants.
Learn to Ride – Skateboard Two-class series:

Thurs, 9/21/2023
5:30 – 7:00 pm CSU Rec Center Roller Hockey Rink (outdoors, south of Rec Center main entrance) Join instructors from LAUNCH for a series of two, 90 minute classes to learn the basics of skateboarding as a mode of transportation. This class is designed for new boarders, age 18+  who are interested in learning how to use a board to get around campus and town. The classes will be held outdoors and will involve drills and practice on a board. Bring your own board or use a loaner from LAUNCH. Helmets to keep will be provided. Discuss traffic safety laws and responsibilities, and how to avoid crashes or conflicts, and the Colorado Safety Stop Bill. Bicycling 101:
Bike Basics
The Bicycling 101 course is curated for participants who are new to campus and/or biking and serves as a guide for safe riding on campus and in town. This class covers bike anatomy, locking your bike, ABC quick check, preventative maintenance, chain lube, fixing a flat and so much more.  The main objective of the course is to break down any barriers and fears that new commuters may have so riders are safe and happy when biking.  Free to students and employees / community members with a membership at Campus Rec.
Smart Cycling –
Part 1: Road Rules
Thurs, 9/7/2023 5 – 9 pm Online A free, two-part class designed to teach rules of the road, improve skills and build confidence. Road Rules is a classroom session and is a prerequisite to Part 2. engage.fcgov.com
Bicycling 201:
Bike Build
This two part class hands on class will cover the process of assembling and tuning an entire bicycle. The objective of the course is to offer a hands-on experience where the participants will assemble the bikes themselves under the supervision of The Spoke mechanics. There will be three bikes disassembled prior to the beginning of the class with all necessary parts provided to the participants. Prior to the assembly and tuning, a general walk through of tool use will be included in the class.  By the end of the class your group will have assembled and tuned a complete bike.  Free to students and employees / community members with a membership at Campus Rec.  Prerequisite:  Bicycling 101.

Smart Cycling – Part 2: Road Skills Sat, 9/9/2023 8 am – Noon Walk & Wheels Skills Hub (1600 W Drake Rd) A free, two-part class designed to teach rules of the road, improve skills and build confidence.
